Green Label
4.9% pH Neutral
Phosphate buffer: neutralises acids and alkalis on contact
Best for
  • Acid splashes (sulfuric, hydrochloric, battery acid)
  • Alkali exposure (ammonia, caustic soda, degreasers)
  • Chemical processing and laboratory environments
  • Battery charging and handling areas
Available in: 200ml bottles · 500ml DUO
Important: Do not use pH Neutral for cement, lime, calcium hydroxide exposures. Phosphate buffer may cause corneal calcification when combined with calcium-containing substances. Use 0.9% saline instead. Not intended for hydrofluoric acid (HF) exposure.

Why Plum Safety?

European-engineered, ISO 13485 certified, and trusted across industries worldwide. Here's what sets Plum apart from the alternatives.

DUO Dual-Eye Rinse

Patented eyepiece rinses both eyes simultaneously, for faster and more thorough coverage in an emergency.

3.5-Year Shelf Life

Longer than leading competitors. Fewer replacements, lower total cost of ownership, less waste.

Medical Device Certified

ISO 13485:2016 quality system. EU Medical Device Regulation compliant. Manufactured to pharmaceutical standards.

Sterile Until Use

Sealed, single-use bottles maintain sterility throughout shelf life. No contamination risk from refilling or exposure.

Built for Your Industry

Different worksites face different chemical hazards. Here's how Plum fits your industry's risk profile.

Mining & Resources

Dust, sulfuric acid, process chemicals, cyanide solutions. Remote locations with limited water access.

DUO 1000ml + iBox stations
Construction

Cement, lime, concrete dust, solvents. Saline only. Phosphate buffer must not be used with calcium-based materials.

Saline bottles + Green Box
Laboratories

Mixed acids, alkalis, solvents, biological materials. Requires AS 4775 compliant stations at every bench.

pH Neutral + Saline Open Stations
Transport & Logistics

Battery acid, dangerous goods handling, fuel spills. Mobile crews need portable, vehicle-mounted solutions.

pH Neutral DUO + QuickRinse kits
Oil & Gas

Acids, H₂S exposure, drilling fluids, corrosive chemicals. Harsh conditions require dust-proof, heated stations.

iBox 3 + Plug & Heat Box
Agriculture

Pesticides, herbicides, ammonia-based fertilisers. Often no access to running water, so portable solutions are essential.

Saline 500ml + belt bag

Simple When It Matters Most

No training required. Plum's intuitive design means anyone can respond in seconds.

Step 1
Grab

Remove the bottle from its station. Opens with one hand, even with gloves on.

Step 2
Twist & Open

Twist off the sealed cap. The sterile solution is ready immediately, with no mixing and no prep.

Step 3
Rinse

Hold the bottle against the eye(s) and squeeze. DUO rinses both eyes at once. Continue until medical help arrives.

AS 4775 Emergency Eyewash & Shower Equipment

Australian Standard AS 4775-2007 sets out the requirements for emergency eyewash and shower equipment in workplaces where hazardous chemicals are used. Here's what your site needs to get right.

  • Eyewash must be reachable within 10 seconds of any chemical hazard
  • Travel path must be unobstructed, on the same level, with no doors
  • Plumbed stations must deliver 1.5L/min for a minimum of 15 minutes
  • Portable bottles are supplementary and do not replace plumbed stations where required
  • Weekly activation testing and annual inspections are mandatory
  • Solution should be tepid (16 to 38°C) and hands-free operation is recommended

No. Under AS 4775, portable eyewash bottles are classified as supplementary equipment. They provide critical first-response rinsing in the seconds before a worker reaches a plumbed station, but they do not replace the requirement for plumbed eyewash and shower facilities where hazardous chemicals are used. That said, many remote worksites, vehicles, and field operations rely on portable bottles as the primary immediate-response tool, with medical evacuation as the follow-up protocol.

Use pH Neutral (4.9% phosphate buffer) when your site handles strong acids or alkalis: sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, caustic soda, ammonia, and similar chemicals. The buffer helps neutralise the chemical on contact. Use saline for dust, particles, general irritants, and critically, for any exposure involving cement, lime, or calcium-containing substances where phosphate buffer should not be used.

Different approach, different strengths. Diphoterine uses a single amphoteric solution designed to work against a broad range of chemicals. Plum offers two targeted solutions (saline for general use, pH Neutral for acids/alkalis) plus a significantly wider product range: DUO dual-eye bottles, dust-proof stations, heated units, and ampoules. Plum also offers a longer shelf life (3.5 years vs 2 years) at a lower price point. Both are ISO 13485 certified.

Plum products have a 3.5-year shelf life from manufacture. Every bottle is clearly date-stamped. For compliance, check dates during your weekly eyewash station inspections and replace bottles at least one month before expiry. Alliance Safety can set up scheduled reorder reminders for your site to ensure you’re never caught with expired stock.
